Ocala, FL – Week IX of the 2022 Winter Spectacular Show Series is underway with exciting equestrian competition. Feature class action opened with 26 competitive horse-and-rider combinations striving for triumph in the $20,000 C. Jarvis Insurance Welcome Prix. FEI Level III course designer Catsy Cruz (MEX) constructed the rolling tracks that allowed nine entries to deliver fault free first rounds and three managed to be double clear, but it was Santiago Lambre (BRA) and his own All In Horses Cava (Cadensky x Licara) that stole the win at the end of the order.
Lambre is on a roll, earning numerous featured class and grand prix wins. Just last Sunday, Lambre and All In Horse Cava earned the top finish in the $15,000 WEC Ocala 1.45m Jumper Classic.
Lambre and All In Horses Cava were the final pair down the ramp into the WEC Grand Arena, navigating a fast first round in 67.029 seconds.
“Today as the first day that [All In Horses Cava] felt more connected with me. This week, I focused a lot on flat work which was very helpful. He is naturally a hot, more difficult type of horse, so I need to try and adapt my own riding to his way of go,” said Lambre.
Lambre and the speedy 11-year-old Oldenburg gelding yielding a very fast jump-off, leaving out strides while not hitting the brakes once to stop the clock at 36.988 seconds.
“Catsy is a great course designer. The jump-off was smooth and some options for adjustability. There was a nice gallop to the combination and a tidy turn in the beginning. I think the tracks were set perfect for a Welcome class,” expressed Lambre.
Richard Spooner (USA) and Show Jumping Syndications International’s Quirado RC (Quinar x Ursula) secured the second place finish in today’s $20,000 C. Jarvis Insurance Welcome Prix. Spooner and the 13-year-old Holsteiner gelding produced a seamless first round in 68.413 second. The pair went right to the jump-off, flowing through the lines, while jumping to the top of the standards in 38.644 seconds, a time that held rank for a good portion of the class.
Third place honors went to Quentin Judge (USA) and Double H Farm’s HH Big Thief in the $20,000 C. Jarvis Insurance Welcome Prix. Judge and the 11-year-old Belgian Warmblood stallion yielded an effortless first round in 70.116 seconds. The pair advanced to the jump-off, easily walking down the lines and taking tidy inside turns to stop the jump-off timers at 41.682 seconds to round out the top three.
