Ocala, FL — For a second year, Stirrups Restaurant has been honored with the Best of Award of Excellence for its outstanding wine program in Wine Spectator’s 2024 Restaurant Awards, which celebrate the world’s best restaurants for wine.
Wine Spectator’s Best of Award of Excellence recognizes restaurants whose wine lists offer interesting selections, appropriate to their cuisine and appealing to a broad range of wine enthusiasts. Recipients of this highly-regarded award surpass the standard, showcasing excellent breadth across multiple wine-growing regions and significant vertical depth of top producers, along with superior presentation.
The competitive awards are assigned on three levels: the Award of Excellence, the Best of Award of Excellence and the Grand Award. The Best of Award of Excellence was awarded to only 1,531 locations worldwide, underscoring Stirrups’ commitment to curating a world-class wine program.
The exceptional wine programming at Stirrups is largely a product of the joint work of Senior Director of Food and Beverage, Jeremy Gow, and Beverage Director and Master Sommelier, Roland Micu. Stirrups currently offers over 6,000 bottles across a 29-page wine list, largely focused on wine grown in Burgundy and Napa Valley.
“Guests can be assured that they can enjoy wine right here in Ocala that they might find at any of the top destination restaurants on the planet,” said Micu. “We have something for everyone, including those who wish to celebrate the most special of occasions and pair the occasion with the most special wine.”
The award-winning wine program at Stirrups is complemented by a seasonal menu of Southern-inspired cuisine, along with lively brunches, elegant chef’s dinners and special events, such as the quarterly Stirrups Wine Series.
