Wilmington, OH – The $30,000 Standlee Grand Prix brought a strong field of competitors to the Standlee Sanctuary at World Equestrian Center – Wilmington (WEC), where six combinations advanced to an exciting jump-off. In the end, it was Izzy Beisel (USA) who came out on top, piloting David Beisel’s Contigo to victory by nearly two seconds.

FEI Level III course designer Colm Quinn (IRL) set the 1.40m track that saw six clear rounds in the first phase, with four combinations ultimately producing double-clear efforts.

Beisel, a familiar face in the winner’s circle at WEC – Wilmington, impressively qualified both of her mounts for the jump-off. She first returned with Diaz Barbotiere but had faults along the way, leaving one final opportunity aboard Contigo.

Wilhelm Genn also advanced two horses to the jump-off and set the early clear pace with Klaus Mauer’s 10-year-old Oldenburg mare Katinka (Kannan x Maylin), last week’s grand prix winner, in 38.437 seconds.

Summer Justus, fresh off a national grand prix victory at WEC – Ocala, continued her strong form with La Belle SCF, crossing the timers in 39.389 seconds, but a rail kept her out of the top placings.

Lanie Thomas came closest to catching Genn’s time, guiding Zendaya HH (Zirocco Blue x Cola) to a clear effort in 38.732 seconds, just two-tenths off the lead, to slot into second at the time.

Second-to-last to return, Beisel brought confidence into the ring aboard Contigo, the 12-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding by Carambole. The pair also recently earned a National Grand Prix victory together at WEC – Ocala and continued that momentum in Wilmington. Beisel delivered a quick and efficient round, stopping the clock in 36.707 seconds to take over the lead. The time proved untouchable, securing the win, with Genn finishing second and Thomas rounding out the top three.
