Wilmington, OHIO – January 30, 2026 – World Equestrian Center – Wilmington (WEC) reminds all competitors, trainers, and exhibitors to implement precautionary measures as Equine Herpesvirus-1 (EHV-1) remains a seasonal health concern within the equine industry.

All horses traveling to World Equestrian Center – Wilmington (OH) must be accompanied by a Health Declaration signed by both the owner and trainer.

By signing this declaration, the owner and trainer acknowledge that:

  • The horse has had no recorded fever (>101.5°F), and
  • The horse has shown no clinical signs of illness during the three (3) days prior to shipment to WEC – Wilmington.

In addition, the Health Declaration must include twice-daily rectal temperature recordings for the horse for the three (3) days leading up to shipping to the show.

Completed Health Declarations may be uploaded directly to the EquiTrace app prior to arrival.

This requirement is intended to enhance early disease detection and reduce the risk of infectious disease introduction onto the grounds.

WEC remains committed to maintaining strong biosecurity protocols. Exhibitors may review WEC’s full Health and Safety Protocols for Equine Exhibitors.
