Wilmington, Ohio – The 2024 Winter in the Midwest series at World Equestrian Center – Wilmington continues Wednesday, January 24 with Winter Classic 6. Competition will run through Sunday, January 21 and will feature USEF Premier/Level 4 Jumper competition including the $10,000 CWD Welcome Stake, two $15,000 USHJA National Hunter Derbies, the $10,000 Futures Prix, and the $30,000 Grand Prix.

After Hours Family Fun
Join us Saturday immediately following conclusion of the grand prix in the Sanctuary warm-up arena from the Hula-Hoop contest! Prizes will be available. How well can you hula?
The Paddock Club
The Paddock Club will host a buffet style Enchilada Bar Saturday, January 27. Fill your enchilada with chicken or beef, Spanish rice, refried beans, sautéed peppers and onions, soft or hard shell tortillas, queso, a salad bar, and assorted desserts!

Entries & Stall Reservations Remain Open for the 2024 Winter in the Midwest Series
Entries and stall reservations are open for the 2024 Winter in the Midwest Series at World Equestrian Center – Wilmington featuring 16 weeks of USEF National & Premier/Level 4 jumpers. The indoor circuit runs from November 29, 2023, through April 16, 2024, and offers more than $4 million in prize money and prizes. WEC – Wilmington is the ideal destination for competitors to escape the harsh winter conditions and show in the spacious, climate-controlled indoor arenas.
Starting at the 2024 Winter in the Midwest series, WEC – Wilmington is offering an exciting and affordable new program for all young hunters and jumpers. All 5-, 6- and 7-year-olds are eligible to be nominated. All nominated jumpers will be eligible for the $45,000 Young Jumper Championship. Jumpers will pay a one-time nomination fee to enter the program. Entry fees and jumper nomination fees will be FREE for every show through November 2024. All nominated hunters will be eligible for the Young Hunter Championship, where they will be offered back 100% of the nomination fees collected throughout the year as prize money (with a minimum of $2,500 guaranteed). Hunters will pay a one-time nomination fee to enter the program. Entry fees in the Young Hunter Division will be FREE for every show through November 2024.

Where to Eat
Open to exhibitors every day at 4 p.m. during horse show days, The Paddock Club is one of the family-friendly, World Equestrian Center restaurants as well as a gathering place featuring a full bar, flat-screen TVs, free WiFi and multiple comfortable seating areas. Stop in to dine or enjoy a hand-crafted cocktail.
For a quick grab, The International Café at the World Equestrian Center is conveniently located outside the Roberts Arena and around the corner from Vendor Village. The International Café opens at 7 a.m. on show days. The cafe features a classic on-site dining menu consisting of full breakfast, lunch and dinner options. We offer daily specials and a selection of beer and wine.
Worship
Larry the Preacher Guy provides weekly services at World Equestrian Center. You can attend a 15-minute service on Sunday at 7:30 a.m. in Vendor Village. Young Equestrians for Christ meet Thursday’s at 7pm in the Rider’s Lounge. All are welcome: people, dogs and horses. For those unable to attend, please visit WEC.net to listen to Chaplain Larry’s sermons available as weekly podcasts.
Lodging at World Equestrian Center – Wilmington
Guests are advised to make lodging reservations at their earliest convenience to ensure they secure accommodations close to the showgrounds. Reservations can be made at wec.net or by calling 937.382.0985 ext. 3
World Equestrian Center – Wilmington has myriad on-site lodging options for guests:
- The Wilbur Estate – The Wilbur Estate is a stunning, plantation-style mansion with five elegant luxury suites. Accommodations are centrally located on the horse showgrounds, just steps from arenas, stabling and the Paddock Club. Free Wi-Fi and VIP parking are included in your stay at The Wilbur Estate.
- Cabins – Each of our cabins sleep up to six guests and is within walking distance from our arenas and barns. Two of our cabins are handicap accessible. Free Wi-Fi included.
- Home Away from Home Park – Directly across the street from our horse show entrance, our 130 Home Away from Home units have two or three bedrooms with a fully equipped kitchen and living and dining room area. Free Wi-Fi included.
- Camping Sites – World Equestrian Center has many camping sites equipped with electric, water and sewer for $225 per week (or any portion thereof), you must reserve these on your entry form or stall reservation form. Please check-in at the horse show office for a pass prior to parking your RV.
