Osborne Scores Second Grand Prix Freestyle CDI3* Victory During WEC January Dressage CDI3*

January 31, 2026 – Ocala, FL – The highlight of the WEC January Dressage CDI3*,  presented by Hampton Green Farms was held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at World Equestrian Center – Ocala (WEC). The Grand Prix Freestyle CDI3* saw Charlotte Osborne (GBR) and Fruhlingszauber, an 18-year-old Austrian Warmblood gelding by Fortino x Rubinstein I owned by Lisa Carol, strut their way to victory.

With a freestyle choreographed by Karen Robinson and music chosen by Carol, the pair found the beat for a personal best score of 70.775%, including a 72.575% from judge at C, Kristi Wysocki.

The music’s strong beat was perfect for Osborne and “Ozzie,” who used the bass line for their tempi changes. Photo by Andrew Ryback Photography.

The chosen house music style fit perfectly for “Ozzie,” who “really dances to it,” said Osborne. “The judges said they really liked it too. It’s got a strong beat to it. It’s very clear for the changes, so he can really feel it. I think he enjoys it.”

Osborne increased the difficulty in her choreography, which included two-tempis on a circle into one-tempis, then dropping into passage movement, followed by a piaffe pirouette.

“It’s very ambitious,” admitted Osborne, “but he’s such a good boy. I’m super grateful for him and lucky to be on a horse like him.”

The icing on the cake of winning was seeing her friends and family that had flown in to watch. “It all came at the right time,” she expressed. “Usually, it’s just me and my groom Eliza Sanders. I finished my test and looked to see them cheering. IT was my favorite part of the night, getting to share it with everyone.”

A score of 66.600% secured third place for Sylvia Gugler (USA) and Vulkano 14, an 11-year-old Warmblood by Van Vivaldi I x Sir Donnerhall I, owned by Gugler and Gugler Sport Horses Gmbh & Co.
