New multi-field complex to enhance youth development and expand access to elevated athletic experiences in Ocala

Ocala, FL – Sports at WEC is pleased to announce a significant campus expansion at World Equestrian Center – Ocala (WEC), further advancing its commitment to youth development, community engagement and high-quality athletic experiences.

Planned as a phased development, the new Sports at WEC campus will feature a total of 11 outdoor fields, including four state-of-the-art artificial turf fields and seven premium natural grass fields designed to support a variety of sports and competition levels. The turf and grass fields are designed to meet high-level performance standards, with flexible configurations to accommodate multiple sports and formats while maintaining top-quality playing surfaces.

The future complex will also include a restaurant building, two full-service restroom facilities and covered seating for approximately 3,400 spectators, creating a comfortable and convenient environment for athletes, families and fans. Completion of the new fields and the first phase of the expansion is anticipated by the end of the year.

The Sports at WEC campus expansion follows the success of Sports at WEC’s soccer programming and their continued partnership with Florida Premier FC under the banner WEC Premier FC, which has introduced a comprehensive range of youth soccer opportunities to Marion County and the surrounding region. This summer, a range of local soccer programming for boys and girls is available through Florida Premier’s HappyFeetrecreational leagues, youth camps and competitive club teams with continued opportunities later in the year as new facilities come online.

The expansion reinforces Sports at WEC’s long-term vision to create a premier multi-sport destination that supports athletes at every stage of development, from introductory programs to advanced competition. With a strong focus on accessibility within the greater Ocala area, the initiative is designed to increase community participation in sports programs while delivering a high-quality experience aligned with the broader World Equestrian Center standard.

“This expansion represents an important investment in our community and the families we serve,” said Mason Jordan, Senior Operations Executive at World Equestrian Center. “By continuing to grow Sports at WEC, we are creating more opportunities for youth to participate, develop and thrive in a welcoming, family-focused environment that reflects our commitment to quality and experience.”

As construction progresses, Sports at WEC will continue to expand its programming portfolio, with future opportunities to introduce additional sports offerings alongside its established soccer pathway. The completed campus will serve as a hub for local participation, regional competition and large-scale events, supporting continued growth and positioning Sports at WEC as a leading destination for sports in Central Florida.
