Ocala, FL – The WEC May Dressage CDI3* began on Friday, May 15, 2026, with the Grand Prix CDI3* in the WEC Grand Arena, and 14 entries showed up to contest the top prize. U.S. Olympic team silver medalist Adrienne Lyle and Helix, a 14-year-old KWPN gelding by Apache x Jazz, received the highest score for victory.

In their first international competition since April of 2025, the pair scored 72.239%. However, Lyle did not have nerves in returning to the ring with her 2024 Paris Olympic Games mount.

“I’ve really been enjoying having him and having a great time this week,” she confided. “It’s the first time in a really long time that I’ve gone in a grand prix where I wasn’t trying to qualify for something. We were able to experiment with some different things and not have to worry about it being perfect. I’m really thankful and enjoying that moment.

“He felt very relaxed, very at home in there,” she continued. “I was able to stick to the plan that we’d created in warm up. He felt really confident, and he really let me ride him. I’m super thrilled with him.”

Lyle appreciated the support from Helix’s owner, Heidi Humphries, saying, “It’s not linear, and she understands that. The path is very twisty turny, but it makes it that much more enjoyable and rewarding, I think, in the end.”

Denielle Gallagher (CAN) and Come Back de Massa, a 14-year-old Lusitano gelding (Galopin de la Font x Quixote SDS) owned by Ellen Lazarus and Gallagher, finished in second place with a score of 68.457%. With a score of 68.174%, Kevin Kohmann (USA) and Sonata MF, an 11-year-old Hanoverian mare by Sir Donnerhall I x Don Principe owned by Diamante Farms, placed third.
