Lebanon’s Jad Dana Extends Winning Streak in $117,000 Florida Coast Equipment Grand Prix Qualifier CSI4*
25 JUN 26 Ocala, FL
Ocala, FL — The WEC Grand Arena welcomed 28 horse-and-rider combinations representing 10 different nations for the $117,000 Florida Coast Equipment Grand Prix Qualifier CSI4*. FEI Level IV and 2028 Olympic Games course designer, Alan Wade (IRL), designed the track that saw 12 partnerships advance to the jump-off.

Hot off wins in both the CSI2* and CSI4* Speed classes, Jad Dana (LBN) continued his winning streak, claiming his third ranking class victory of the week.
“It feels great. It’s so good to be here — it always is,” Dana smiled after his win. “I won three ranking classes between yesterday and today with three different horses, so the horses are in top form, jumping great, and they love it here. What a way to start the week.”

As athletes returned for the jump-off phase, it was Sharn Wordley (NZL) who set the pace as the first to go, riding Della Wordley’s 13-year-old Hanoverian gelding, Champion League (Cador 5 x Contendro I), to a clear round in 33.40 seconds.

Wordley’s lead did not last long as Luis Sabino Goncalves (POR) followed, stopping the clock in 33.11 seconds aboard Sigma Stables LLC’s Gallaxia De Ferval Z (George x Nabab De Reve), a nine-year-old Zangersheide mare.
Goncalves held the lead until Dana and his proven mount, Itchcock Des Dames (Marius Claudius x Calvaro F.C.), entered the ring toward the bottom of the order.

“It was a short jump-off, but I thought it was really nice,” Dana discussed Wade’s short course. “The approach to number two was a little awkward, so you had to set it up nicely. The turn back to the in-and-out was comfortable if you went wide, but if you wanted to win, you had to turn very tight.”
“I planned to do nine strides from one-to-two and I got that, then it was a long gallop to the far oxer, turn as tight as you can to the double, then a big gallop, and you had to stick to the five strides to the last.”

The 12-year-old Swedish Warmblood gelding, owned by The Itchy Group, is a familiar face in the WEC winner’s circle and “has been in top form,” according to Dana.

“Everybody that knows me knows how much I love that horse. Just a couple weeks ago, he was fifth in the five-star Grand Prix at Spruce Meadows, which was amazing for him, for me, and for my whole team. That was a huge accomplishment. He’s just been amazing and I hope he keeps going this way because he’s my boy.”
The duo stopped the clock in 31.67 seconds to take the win and add another victory to their impressive partnership.
