Samuel Parot Closes Out Summer With a One-Two Finish in $50,000 Mane ‘n Tail American Standard Grand Prix

Ocala, FL – The final featured event of the 2026 Summer Series at World Equestrian Center – Ocala (WEC) came to a close Sunday afternoon as 31 horse-and-rider combinations contested the $50,000 Mane ‘n Tail American Standard Grand Prix. Chile’s Samuel Parot saved his best for last, sweeping the top two spots with Tiffany de Olid (Huppydam des Horts x Coco de Mies) and Contigo Z to close out the summer circuit on a high note.

Course designer Leopoldo Palacios (VEN) set an intricate track for the national field, with just six combinations answering all the questions and staying within the time allowed to advance to the jump-off.

Parot secured two spots in the jump-off and returned first aboard his newer partner, Contigo Z. Knowing he had another opportunity later in the order, Parot opted to take a few risks with the 11-year-old Zangersheide gelding. 

“With Contigo Z, I took some risks because I knew I had one later. He is very, very green and also very small, but he has everything. He’s confident, careful, smart and fast, and I think he will become a top horse,” expressed Parot.

The strategy paid off as Parot and Contigo Z flew around the short course without fault in 41.240 seconds, setting a time that remained untouched until Parot returned aboard his final entry, Tiffany de Olid.

With his more experienced mount, the 14-year-old Spanish Sport Horse mare Tiffany de Olid, Parot knew he could capitalize on her natural speed and experience to challenge his own leading time.

“The mare, ‘Tiffany’, is so fast, naturally fast, and she knows everything from her experience. I went for it on the last one and did one less on her, and I was able to get the win.”

Parot and Tiffany de Olid made every turn count, crossing the timers in 40.638 seconds to take over the top spot and secure a one-two finish for Parot, with Contigo Z ultimately taking second.

After closing out his summer with a dominant finish, Parot reflected on competing at WEC – Ocala. “It’s fantastic. It’s the best in the world. I have competed all over the world, and this place is unique in every way, from the people to the office and everything. Everything is great. At the show, all the people and staff are so kind. It’s really great for the riders. The horses stay very comfortable while they are here; the indoor is fantastic. It’s Disney World for horses!”

Tomas Yofre (ARG) came closest to challenging Parot’s top two times. Yofre guided the 16-year-old Holsteiner mare Cardora (Caretino 2 x Tamara V) to a clear and quick effort in 42.760 seconds to round out the podium in third.
