Ocala, FL – Ninety entries gathered at Hunter 1 today to vie for top honors in the $20,00 Golden Ocala Golf & Equestrian Club 3’6”-3’9” Hunter Derby, $15,000 UF Veterinary Hospital 3’ Open Hunter and $15,000 WEC Ocala 3’ Jr/Am Hunter Derby. Tucker William (USA) crafted the open tracks that allowed competitors to show off their horse’s style and quality. Competition was fierce as professional Daniel Geitner proved unbeatable by claiming two Derby victories, while amateur Isabelle Ehman rose to the top in the $15,000 WEC Ocala 3’ Jr/Am Hunter Derby for the second consecutive week.
In the $20,000 Golden Ocala Golf & Equestrian Club 3’6”-3’9” Hunter Derby, Geitner piloted Easy Money (Fairbanks x Stutbuch) owned by Laura Cramer to a foot-perfect round for a score of 94.
Geitner and the 11-year-old Oldenburg gelding were the final duo to return for the handy, “I had the advantage of being the last one in and knowing some of the other high scoring riders had made some mistakes. I realized I needed an 84 to win so I played it safe to the second jump and chose the low option, then he was so on everywhere else. I just opted to turn inside and jump all three other high options. It was his day,” said Geitner.
The pair found flowing track to earn a handy score of 91 for an overall score of 185 and the win.

Daniel Geitner & Story Hour Top the $15,000 UF Veterinary Hospital 3’ Open Hunter Derby
Daniel Geitner of Aiken, South Carolina piloted Don Stewart’s Story Hour to two impressive scores in the 90s.
Geitner and the seven-year-old gelding earned second place honors in last week’s derby. Today, they continued on their successful path to take the win.
“I started riding him last week for Don Stewart and he’s such a cool horse. He’s a beautiful mover and jumper. He did the First Years and Green Conformation classes this week. I think he has all of it. He tries super hard, so it’s great for him to get a little experience doing some softer jumps and gets good mileage,” shared Geitner.
The pair delivered a stylish first round to earn a score of 90 from the judges. Geitner and Story Hour were sitting on top when they returned for the handy. The pair swiftly navigated the handy turns to secure a high score of 94 for a two-round total of 184.

Isabelle Ehman & Jagerbomb Score Back-to-Back Wins in the $15,000 WEC Ocala 3’ Jr/Am Hunter Derby
Isabelle Eham and Donald Stewart’s Jagerbomb (Diarado x Chaccalou) secured their second consecutive win in the $15,000 WEC Ocala 3’ Jr/Am Hunter Derby after the pair navigated two effortless rounds for a pair of high scores.
Ehamn and the ten-year-old Oldenburg gelding delivered a superb first round effort for a sore of 90. The pair returned for the handy on top, “Jagerbomb is a very calm horse so I wasn’t too worried about the crazy winds today. I wanted to stick with my plan and stay as tidy ad consistent as possible.”
The pair floated around the handy track for another high score of 91 and an overall winning score of 181.

‘THE STYLE OF RIDING AWARD’
Before the start of the handy round in the $20,000 Golden Ocala Golf & Equestrian Club 3’6″-3’9″ Hunter Derby, the prestigious Style of Riding Award was presented to Tiffany Cambria for her classic style and her sportsmanship. The Style of Riding Award is generously presented by Bill Rube to be awarded to the rider who best displays the American Style of riding in the ring and sportsmanship outside of the competition arena. The recipient serves as a role model for preserving the integrity and tradition of equestrian sport. “This award is very special to me because the recipient of this award pays it forward both in and out of the show ring,” says Rube. Cambria received an elegant duffel bag and wore a white rose corsage on her lapel throughout the handy round to signify her achievement.
