Wilmington, Ohio – Riders and trainers alike were in the holiday spirit Friday evening of Winter Classic 3 at World Equestrian Center – Wilmington for the $1,500 Christmas Sweater Hunt Team class!
A total of six pairs followed each other around Bobby Murphy’s traditional hunter course over obstacles resembling candy canes and Christmas trees, and met at jumps two, six and nine to jump in synchronicity.
Team names included Clark Griswold’s National Lampoons, The Grinch, Light It Up, and Better Believe It.
Team ‘This One’s for Hannah’, made up of Madison Barnett and Caden Nolt, accurately maintained a three-stride distance apart and jumped in perfect sync to claim the win.
Barnett was aboard Mary Crawford’s No Cash Back, a nine-year-old Thoroughbred gelding, and Nolt piloted his own Gio Lemon, a seven-year-old Thoroughbred gelding around the R+L Arena, both riders decked out as in holiday attire!
Santa Claus will be at World Equestrian Center – Wilmington from 2pm and 4pm Saturday afternoon. Stop by to put a good word in with the North Pole, snap a photo and do some holiday shopping in Vendor Village. Join us in embracing the holiday spirit throughout the weekend in your Christmas sweaters!
