Ocala, FL – The penultimate week of the 2024 Summer Series saw an impressive turnout of 38 horse-and-rider combinations for the highlight event of the day, the $24,000 C. Jarvis Insurance Welcome Prix. Sharn Wordley (NZL) continued his winning ways, securing both first place with Hagelin (Stolzenberg x Graefin Top) and third place on Conto Blanco 4 (Cellestial x Kassandra), both owned by Della Wordley.
FEI Level III course designer Catsy Cruz (MEX) crafted a challenging track that resulted in 10 combinations qualifying for the jump-off, with one rider choosing to save her horse for another day. All riders in the jump-off managed to jump clear rounds, making it a race against the clock.

Sharn Wordley demonstrated his speed and skill, first returning aboard the nine-year-old Warmblood gelding Conto Blanco 4 to deliver a clear and fast round in 33.895 seconds, securing third place.

With one more chance to clinch the lead, Wordley returned second to last aboard Hagelin. “I was lucky to go toward the end, so I could see what I had to do to get the time. I took my time where needed and was efficient everywhere else,” he shared. “I did ten from one to two, and a few of us did that, but Gonzalo Busca did 11, and I think that’s where I had him.”
Wordley and the 12-year-old Hanoverian gelding flew around the course, stopping the clock at 33.082 seconds to take the win.

“Both horses have been jumping so well. Ever since our last week in Spruce Meadows, [Conto Blanco 4] hasn’t touched a single rail and has placed in every welcome and grand prix,” he added. “Hagelin has been knocking on the door on Saturday night and jumping so well.”
