Ocala, FL – January 26, 2023 – The 2023 WEC Premier Equitation Cup Championship powered by Gary Yeomans Ford is right around the corner. The prestigious event will be held on February 11 during Week VI of the 2023 Winter Spectacular Show Series.
Riders will still have a chance to qualify for the championship until February 5, 2023. Junior athletes must place in at least two WEC Premier Equitation Cup qualifying classes to earn a spot in the 2023 WEC Premier Equitation Cup Championship powered by Gary Yeomans Ford. Once qualified, entries can be placed through Show Management System.
The championship will also feature $100,000 in trainer awards. The breakdown of the trainer bonus is as follows:
Winning trainer receives: $40,000
Second place trainer receives: $30,000
Third place trainer receives: $20,000
Fourth place trainer receives: $5,000
Wild-card trainer receives: $5,000
The wild-card award will be drawn from all trainers of non-ribbon earning competitors.
The 2023 WEC Premier Equitation Cup Championship powered by Gary Yeomans Ford consists of three phases: jumping, flat and a test. The winner will be awarded the prestigious Premier Cup title and a Ford Explorer XLT SUV from Gary Yeomans Ford.

24-hour check-in is required for all 2023 WEC Premier Equitation Cup Championship horses.

On the day of the Premier Equitation Cup Championship, nine-time ASPCA Maclay course designer Bobby Murphy and renowned performance coach John Haime will walk through the Premier Equitation Cup Championship course. Murphy will discuss the build of his tracks while Haime provides how riders can leverage the experience to enrich their year and path to Maclay Finals.
