Ocala, FL – World Equestrian Center – Ocala (WEC) is celebrating the season with two exciting community events this October, both free and open to the public.
On Saturday, October 25 WEC will bring back the signature Hocus Pawcus Canine Costume Contest. In its third year, this popular free event is a chance to dress your pup in their Halloween best and compete for cash prizes, dog swag, WEC merchandise and more. The event is held indoors in WEC Exposition Center Two from 5pm to 7pm, with winners announced live at 6:45pm.
The evening also features pet-friendly vendors, an adoption showcase from Voices of Change Animal League (VOCAL), entertainment and fall-inspired treats for humans and dogs from WEC concessions and cash bars. Participants are encouraged to pre-register their dogs online. Walk-up entries will be accepted as space allows. Canine and pet vendor applications are also accepted and open through October 17, availability permitting. Contact ocalaevents@wec.net to apply.
Then on Friday, October 31, the WEC Halloween Celebration invites families to spend Halloween night trick-or-treating on the WEC Grand Plaza from 6:30pm to 9pm. Kids can collect treats, decorate cookies and pumpkins and enjoy live music, face painting, spirited balloon art and festive photo ops.
