Wilmington, Ohio – Riders, trainers and families alike were in the Halloween spirit Friday evening the Standlee Sanctuary at World Equestrian Center – Wilmington! Traditional equestrian sport mixed with decked out Halloween costumes brought exhibitors together for a full night of jumper fun for the $2,500 Costume Gamblers Choice .90-1.0m and the $3,500 Costume Gamblers Choice 1.10-1.15m, designed by course designer Anderson Lima (BRA).
The format of Gamblers Choice competition includes numerous obstacles set up in the arena. Each obstacle carries from 10 to 120 points according to its difficulty. Riders are to put together a plan that allows them to jump the fences in a fashion that awards them the most points. The obstacles must be built so that they can be jumped in each direction. Points allocated to the obstacles may be repeated at the discretion of the course designer. Each competitor is credited with the number of points carried by each obstacle that he or she has jumped correctly.
Lisa Bac and her Steel The Game (Adorado x Pudgette), dressed up as Team USA, successfully and strategically galloped around the arena to take the win in the $2,500 Gamblers Choice .90-1.0m.
Bac and her 11-year-old Oldenburg gelding scored 1370 points and made it through the timers when the buzzer went off in 16.141 seconds.
In the $3,500 Gamblers Choice 1.10-1.15m, Oaks Blue Magic (Mr. Blue x Oaks Viola), was tidy and efficient with Hilary Dossett in the irons!
The 11-year-old Warmblood gelding jumped a series of obstacles valuing 1240 total points and made it through the final timers in 16.141 seconds for the blue dressed up as Kiss.
