Today, Tuesday, November 27, 2018 marks the beginning of the season of giving. According to #GivingTuesday’s official website, today is a global day of giving “fueled by the power of social media and collaboration”. #GivingTuesday is celebrated annually on the Tuesday following the widely celebrated holidays of Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday, and puts a focus on giving back after receiving so much. It’s expected this year that #GivingTuesday will bring over 2,500,000 gifts and over $300 million to charitable organizations, and over 150 countries are predicted to be participating. As a whole, we at the World Equestrian Center feel strongly about giving back to the community. We partner with many non-profit organizations around the country, and we would like to take a moment to highlight those near and dear to our hearts.
Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts Presence at World Equestrian Center
“Scouting is adventure, family, fun, character, leadership and so much more. In Scouting, boys and girls start with their best right now selves and grow into their very best future selves. It’s fun, hands-on learning and achievement that puts kids in the middle of the action and prepares them for today – and for life.” – Boy Scouts of America
The Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts have donned the halls of the World Equestrian Center on numerous occasions, selling popcorn and cookies, helping their troops gain entrepreneurial skills along with key leadership skills like teamwork, planning, and a positive outlook.

Danny & Ron’s Rescue
“Danny & Ron’s Rescue speaks for helpless animals that have no voice. We began our rescue mission in 2005 after Hurricane Katrina by aiding dogs that were left homeless by the storm. Since then, our outreach has grown to heights we never imagined. Now we are rescuing puppy mill dogs, bait dogs used in dog-fighting, and hundreds of dogs from shelters—often moments away from euthanasia. We currently deliver pet food and supplies to more than 48 elderly people living in poverty—and pay for their dogs’ medical bills, too. We have rescued dogs from junkyards and shelters, freed animals chained to trees and living in small cages, and saved abandoned pets living on the streets.” – Danny & Ron’s Rescue
In the Fall 2018 Issue of World Equestrian Center Magazine, an entire ad page was reserved for Danny & Ron’s Rescue. Danny & Ron’s Rescue marketing material has also been distributed throughout the World Equestrian Center.

Embrace the mantra, “Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.” Giving is not about how much you give, it is about doing something selfless for the sake of others. Giving does not have to be monetary, simply offering your time can be truly life changing to those in need. Find your own path to giving this Holiday season; as one, we can make a small impact, but together, we just might change the world.
