Ocala, FL – The qualifying period remains open for the 2023 World Equestrian Center (WEC) Premier Equitation Cup Championship. The 2023 Premier Equitation Cup Championship will be held during Week VI of the 2023 Winter Spectacular Show Series on February 11, 2023, at World Equestrian Center – Ocala in Ocala, Florida.
Junior athletes must place in at least two WEC Premier Equitation Cup qualifying classes to qualify for the 2023 Premier Equitation Cup Championship. WEC Premier Equitation Cup qualifying classes are held at both WEC – Ocala and WEC – Wilmington, as well as at select Heritage Farm shows in Katonah, New York. The qualifying period is from December 1, 2021, through February 5, 2023.
Junior riders will compete in three phases: jumping, flat and a test. The winner will be awarded the prestigious Premier Cup title and a brand-new car! Riders competing in the Premier Equitation Cup Championship will also have several learning opportunities during the week with renowned performance coach John Haime and course designer Bobby Murphy. The 2023 Premier Equitation Cup Championship will also feature $100,000 in trainer awards. The breakdown of the trainer bonus is as follows:
Winning trainer receives: $40,000
Second place trainer receives: $30,000
Third place trainer receives: $20,000
Fourth place trainer receives: $5,000
Wild-card trainer receives: $5,000
The wild-card award will be drawn from all trainers of non-ribbon earning competitors.

Premier Equitation Cup Championship Special Guests
Renowned performance coach, John Haime returns to World Equestrian Center – Ocala to mentor premier cup athletes. Haime will host two complimentary informative training sessions to discuss the “three keys to riding big” in the Premier Equitation Cup Championship.
On the day of the Premier Equitation Cup Championship, Haime will walk the Premier Equitation Cup course with the Equitation Cup course designer Bobby Murphy. Haime and Murphy will walk through the course, Murphy will discuss the build while Haime provides what the riders should focus on before, during and after their round in the ring.
