February 28, 2024 – Ocala, FL – Riders are reminded to enter the upcoming World Equestrian Center (WEC) Dressage I and II shows presented by Hampton Green Farm and Discover Dressage. Two competitions will be held and offer qualifying competition in USEF/USDF-rated classes on March 14-15 and March 16-17, 2024. For the second year in a row, WEC – Ocala will host the Florida Youth Dressage Championships on March 15-17, 2024, in conjunction with the WEC March Dressage national shows. Entries for all of these competitions are due March 6, 2024.
Riders are advised that entries are now accepted only through FoxVillage.com.
National competition is USEF/USDF Level 3 rated and offers official qualifying classes for the 2024 Great American/USDF Regional Championships and Para Dressage division. Qualifying opportunities are also available for the 2024 Adequan FEI North American Youth Championships, the 2024 FEI World Breeding Championships for Young Horses and USEF National Championships in Children’s, Pony, Junior, Young Rider, Young and Developing Horse, Intermediaire I, Grand Prix and Young Adult Brentina Cup divisions.
Judges for the competitions include Judy Downer, Brian MacMahon, Lori Barnard and Heidi Berry.
The FYDC is open to riders of all nationalities, and the divisions offered include: FEI Pony division, FEI Children’s division, FEI Junior division, FEI Young Rider division and FEI Under 25 Grand Prix division. Riders will compete in three tests: a team test that counts for 40%, an individual test for 40% and a freestyle test for 20%. The FYDC classes are also qualifiers for the FEI North American Youth Championships as well as the USEF Dressage National Championships. Along with championships in each division, an overall winner with the highest scores at the event will be crowned at the awards presentation on Sunday, March 17.
