Ocala, FL – Feature class action for Week X of the 2022 Winter Spectacualar Show Series closed out with nine competitors vying for the win in the $15,000 WEC Ocala 1.45m Jumper Classic. Bernardo Costa Cabral (POR) built the open tracks that allowed six entries to produce faultless first rounds, but it was Willie Tynan and MDM Equestrian Group, LLC’s Fenise (VDL Campbell x Wica Van De Hermitage) that soared to the top spot.
Tynan (IRL) and the large 12-year-old KWPN gelding yielded an effortless first round in a tidy time of 72.324 seconds.
Tynan enjoyed today’s courses, “It was a lovely class. That’s the ideal course for this type of class. It helps the horses get organized and step up without putting too much pressure on them. It had a lot of the same elements as the grand prix last night, but at a lower level.”
Tynan and Fenise advanced to the jump-off, “I used his step for the jump-off. Once I picked up a canter to the first oxer, I knew the six was there. His stride is massive, so he can walk down those lines. I had to do the six to beat Santiago [Lambre],” laughed Tynan. “Once I got through the combination, I just stayed on the same canter, so I could use his step for the rest of the track. I probably left one or two out everywhere.”
Tynan and Fenise soared through the timers to stop the clock at 37.372 seconds to slot into first place.
Santiago Lambre (BRA) and his own Pampero (Chacco-blue x Naloutaire) secured the second place spot in today’s $15,000 WEC Ocala 1.45m Jumper Classic. Lambre and the 12-year-old Oldenburg gelding were the first pair to try their hand at Cabral’s tracks, producing a smooth first round in 73.531 seconds. The pair went straight to the jump-off, quickly dashing over each fence in 38.831 seconds to ultimately earn second place.
David Jennings (USA) and The Follow Me Group’s Follow Me (For Edition x Georgia) captured the third place finish in the $15,000 WEC Ocala 1.45m Jumper Classic. Jennings and the 15-year-old Hanoverian gelding navigated a seamless first round in 71.701 seconds. The pair jumped-off immediately, rolling through the lines to stop the timers at 39.240 seconds to round out the top three.
