World Equestrian Center – Ocala – July 27, 2021 – World Equestrian Center – Ocala features three more weeks of our Summer Series NSBA hunter/jumper horse shows, and we are committed to safety and wellbeing of all equine and human athletes at our facilities.
Considering the recent positive case of Equine Herpesvirus Myeloencephalopathy (EHM) secondary to EHV-1 at the Sonoma Horse Park in California, World Equestrian Center – Ocala will not admit any horses that have attended or been in contact with horses that attended the horse show at Sonoma Horse Park.
In order to keep all equine athletes safe during the next three weeks of our NSBA hunter/jumpers horse show, World Equestrian Center – Ocala has implemented Precautionary Equine Biosecurity Measures for horses that have attended or been exposed to horses competing at an outside horse show.
All exhibitors with new horses arriving to the World Equestrian Center – Ocala facility, please read the following Equine Biosecurity Measures.
Additional safety measures:
- We recommend no sharing of equipment between horses including feed and water buckets.
- Handlers should wash hands in between handling horses and maintain proper biosecurity protocols in the barn.
- Maintain distancing between horses at the ring and in the barn. No nose-to-nose contact between horses.
Please be sure to check WEC.net for any additional updates on recommendations or requirements. We thank everyone for their efforts in protecting all equine and human athletes during the World Equestrian Center – Ocala NSBA Summer Series hunter/jumper shows.
